Philip Morris International
Microsoft Copilot and Microsoft 365 Copilot for office employees
Philip Morris International reported approximately 20,000 active users of its office Copilot chatbot
Problem
PMI wanted employees to use generative AI within a common governance framework. It needed staff training and a controlled route for introducing workplace tools.
Approach
PMI made the Microsoft Copilot chatbot in Edge available to office employees in April 2024. It subsequently gave around 3,800 employees initial access to Microsoft 365 Copilot, then offered access by application. Training and an internal information hub supported the rollout.
Results
Takeaway
The chatbot's active-user count and Microsoft 365 Copilot's initial access count described different products and measures. Neither established measured productivity gains.
