Toride City

Generative AI council-answer drafting

Toride used AI for 38 council-answer documents, while staff still revised the drafts

WorkingCompany's own claim

Problem

Staff needed to research past council debates and municipal policies before drafting answers. Transfers between departments made that preparation harder.

Approach

Toride introduced the system in September 2024. Advanced Media developed it with input from city staff. It generated possible questions and draft answers using searches of council records and examples from other municipalities. Staff checked facts and revised the output.

Results

38council-answer documents prepared using the system out of 130 in September, according to the cityCompany's own claim[1]
about 50%approximate work-time reduction reported by about half of surveyed usersCompany's own claim[1]

Takeaway

Reported time savings coexisted with substantial rewriting. No surveyed user reported completing an answer with almost no changes.
